UFOs and time travel............................mhm?

What if the UFOs we see now are us, the humans in the future time traveling to see us now. Any ideas?

CURRENT SCIENTIFIC THEORIES:



Current physics theory says that nothing can move backward in time, nor can anything interact in our reality if it travels faster than light. Physics says that time changes with velocity and gravitational fields. So, if a UFO took off from Earth at nearly the speed of light, and came back to Earth, passengers on the UFO would have barely aged, yet people on Earth would age normally. Therefore, it is possible that two identical twins could be different ages.



Recently it was announced by CERN that neutrinos were traveling faster than the speed of light in a vacuum, but they had faulty equipment. When they corrected their equipment, it showed that likely neutrinos traveled slower than the speed of light.



Neutrinos commonly do travel faster than light can travel through a media (matter). This is how they are detected. In matter, a neutrino gives off a cone of light (called Cherenkov Radiation), and that is detected with light sensors (in order to detect the neutrinos).



PREDICTIONS OF THE FUTURE:



In order for psychics to predict future events, information from the future would have to travel back to the past. Current theories of Physics seem to preclude that possibility. However, no one knows everything about science.



UFOS WOULD TAKE THOUSANDS OF YEARS TO REACH US:



To the home planet of the UFO, a long time would elapse as a spaceship travels to earth (if it is 10,000 light years from earth, and it is traveling at the speed of light, it would take 10,000 years to the people on the alien planet). However, to the alien in the spaceship, it would take very little time (because time dilates at high speeds).



WORMHOLES?



Many sci-fis on TV talk about wormholes (shortcuts in the fabric of spacetime that allow nearly instantaneous travel from one point in spacetime to another).



Maybe wormholes exist, or maybe not.



RADIO SIGNALS FROM OTHER WORLDS:



So far, we can't find any signals that prove the existence of life on other worlds.



Perhaps life is a lot rarer than we thought? DNA research shows that live evolved once and only once on Earth (unless some lifeforms died off). Every living thing on Earth is related.



It seems odd to most scientists that in the vastness of space, and among a myriad of planets (some Earthlike), there are not colonies of creatures.

Maybe life doesn't exist outside of Earth? It would take too long for an alien to get to Earth. No one can go back in time (as far as anyone knows).

could be. This is actually not a new idea. There have been a few movies (the titles of which slip my mind at the moment) based on this concept, and I am betting a few anthology shows (twilight zone, masters of scifi, outer limits etc) based on it.

I think the majority of UFOs are just misidentified objects such as planets, weather phenomena, and planes. However, the idea that people have traveled back from the future is an intriguing one.

The Piri-reis map compiled around 1500 consists of a fairly accurate mapping of the world, with information that was believed to be previously unknown. It was compiled from other maps, and shows a projection of earth, as from the sky. Weird for the 1500s. Some believe that maps used in the compilation may have had information from time travelers.

Look up the video of a woman using a cell phone in the background of an old Charley Chaplin silent film. Watch the video if you can, the photo doesn't do it justice. Most argue that she couldn't be using a cell phone since she wouldn't get service. But could she be doing something similar? Communicating with a ship maybe?

Other questions that come up is the Nazca Lines which actually feature a picture of an astronaut.

The Solway-Firth astronaut photo is another really weird one. At first, like most people, I shrugged the photo off as the back of someone, maybe a jogger. But after reading the story behind it, and hearing an interview with the photographer (he never made a cent of profit on it by the way), it does leave a big question mark in my head.



edit: Turtle Island Guest --- your thinking like a pop sci-fi movie. You might not be able to change the past. The past has already happened and thats how it happened. It might be quite impossible to go back in time and stop a major tragedy. Whats more, if you could avert some major tragedy and show off future technology, the results would be completely unpredictable. You could end up saving the guy who creates a super virus that wipes out mankind.

Ofcourse! UFO exists. UFO is any Unidentified Flying Object, may b a plane or a fire balloon too. its not necessary tht a UFO always means a spaceship sent by the aliens, they may b meteors or asterids. Many times i hv seen such kind of things in the night sky, which were unknown to me and i thought it to b an spaceship. bt later i came to know there were the planes. But it doesn't mean that there is nothing like aliens in the universe. Bcoz a month later i noticed something moving fast in the night. it was not a plane at all, coz it was at a much greater height than a plane can fly. i showed it to my dad too. he was even confused abt it.?? It was not a plne or a air-balloon. so there are many such incidents which shows tht there is something like UFOs.

Many have thought of that idea, and it's possible, except I would think that they would love to show off our future technological advances instead of remaining so elusive and mysterious.



Imagine if we could time travel backward today in 2012... wouldn't you think we'd love to avert many tragedies of the past? Which then makes me think these possible future travelers would do the same... and since they haven't... I'm leaning toward 'no.'

wow it's amazing you ask that because yesterday there was a show on the science channel about time travel and it suddenly dawned on me that the reason why the "aliens" don't come down from their flying saucers and meet us is because they are time traveling humans that don't want to effect the future, If time travel is possible then that must mean it exists in the future so I think we are onto something. : )
