Question:
Is 'the Hum' dangerous, or is it just a minor annoyance?
2009-05-04 19:29:07 UTC
I've been reading up on these cases of a peculiar humming noise that occured on several occasions in many different areas, including Bristol, Kokomo, and Taos. Can it be potentially dangerous and life-threatening, or is it just an annoyance? Also, does anyone know the source of it? I know most of these things are uncertain, but there are so many theories....

The video that Tony provided is really good. According to the video and the research done on this, it is louder when America is at war. It is possible that it is coming from low frequency signals that the military uses to communicate with their submarines. I think they called them E. L. F's. One guy on the you tube video went down into a deep cave to escape from the sound and he said it was much louder there. If the signals are supposed to reach deep sea levels then the fact that the guy heard it louder underground makes sense.

As far as it being life threatening, I doubt it but it could very well drive a person crazy...or at least make them really grumpy. It's like never having a moment of peace and quiet. Some people have gone on disability because of this. They are unable to concentrate on other things fully, they are often distracted by the noise.

The more exciting answer is connected to the theory that aliens are living in the center of our Earth and they turned their ship on in the early 1980's and have been revving it up for some big event.

Or it could be a form of communication from aliens. Perhaps the noise is actually a download of some kind of information for these "chosen ones".

;)

Those who hear the noise lean towards that it is related to the military though and I think they are right. ;)

Here it is, they are called ELF's:

appears like me 20 years in the past. I too became drained of the quick excursions state edge and the lengthy excursions in Germany. My spouse and my 2 toddlers submit with the shifting for my complete occupation. Now we are retired and at domicile the position we wanted to be. The thoughts are large and the various astounding acquaintances that we made and nonetheless stay in contact with is something very particular to us. What i'm attempting to assert is ,certain there have been some undesirable situations besides the undeniable fact that the strong situations will continually out weight the undesirable. strong luck to you ! carry in there.

Nothing I have read on the Taos Hum, or any of the similar occurances indicates anything dangerous, merely irritating. If you are hearing the hum, you might want to move to another part of the country, otherwise, don't worry about it. As for what causes it, there are theories, but nothing is known, especially since they can't even prove it exists...

Yeah I looked that up on wikipedia. All of the explanations sound reasonable. Heating the ionosphere sounds somewhat dangerous though.

Ok.. that was strange. I have heard about this before but I really have no clue. I would like to go to a location and listen for myself and see what happens then.

I don't know why but ,, well .. it made me feel very uncomfortable to hear it. Almost like we are not suppose to hear it..

maybe I am just tired, but its just a bit creepy. And I do not creep out easy.

I know that's not an answer, I sure wish I had one.

Maybe its got something to do with the vibrational shift of 2012.

Sometimes when things vibrate at certain speeds it creates a hum. Its possible that this hum is maybe like precursors to the coming shift in the vibrational frequency of the earth. And the reason some people hear it is because they are more sensitive to this. What the hum is saying I dunno for sure, but I'm guessing that these people are either in tune with what is to happen or so out of tune that the hum bothers them.
