This happened about three years ago. It was a summer night in 2012, I was asleep and had woken up at 3 in the morning because I was really thirsty and wanted water. So I get out of bed and go to the kitchen to drink water. I come back to my room to see that there was a very dark shadow on the ceiling over my bed (notice, it wasn't there when I woke up and left the room). I didn't think much about it so I got on my bed and tried to fall asleep. I couldn't fall sleep and I became very unease. I kept opening my eyes to see the shadow there, and it had been still, not moving at all. The shadow looked like a figure of a person wearing a cape. There was nothing causing the shadow. The only source of light was the charger for my laptop, but nothing was in front of that light source so I didn't know what was causing it. Anyway, a couple hours pass and the shadow is still there. I couldn't sleep because I felt so uneasy by this thing. I finally decide to try to get out of my bed, and as I slowly get up from my bed this shadow starts to move in a way that it was like spasming really fast for a second and then it quickly moves over to the other wall and vanishes. I jumped and was afraid but in shock to what had happened. To this day I can't explain what that was. It couldn't have been a hallucination because why was the shadow not in my room when I left but then it was when I came back? And why did it stay still and not move at all for 2 hours? I can't explain what this was.

I believe in paranormal, but I prefer to look at things in a more down to earth way first. Your mind is not your own when you are tired. I don't take a lot of notice when someone mentions paranormal in the middle of the night. You sound very genuine, and believe what you say, but I would put this down to tiredness. Houses or people, often have a history of paranormal, even if it just weeks old., but you mention no other happenings. I have heard of people that have had no experience, but have started to feel a difference in their home after bringing in a new ornament, or something that has been owned by another. You said that you went to the kitchen for water. If you look at a bright light for just a second, after being in a dark room four hours, you will see a dark shadow on the white ceiling. I may be miles out, but if it was a one off, and being in the middle of the night, I would put my money on tiredness.

The first thing that you need to understand is that shadow people(so to speak) are actually demonic sources, But they demonic sources with very limited powers............. Nor can a shadow figure can cause your body to have a bout with the shake nor can shadows people cut off or mess with any electronics or electrical devices or chairs or tables or with anything that is on top of a table................. But there are invisible demonic sources that can enter your home and do almost anything which includes messing with your mind and body.................... So according to what you are saying I strongly believe that is what happen to you 3 years ago................ Now you never mention if anything like your light going off and on or certain stuff flying around your home so I also believe that they were playing a prank on you for whatever reason........ Also because in the last 3 years they never came back to do similar things to you is another reason that I believe that some demonic force was just playing a joke on you.......................................

Chalk it up to Unexplained for now, meanwhile see if you can document it other than by personal seeing it. Can it be photographed? Get a K2 meter $50 on the web---see if there is an EMF signature----either the "ghost" may emit an EVP, or the EVP might make you "See" a "ghost" if you are sensitive.

DO you have a large dresser MIRROR in your room? These can cause weird shadows in unexpected places---and these shadows may vary if your charger that gives off the light might vary in position.

step one--eliminate ALL possible "prosaic" causes, no matter how unlikely. Step 2 DOCUMENT the phenomena if step 1 fails---something other than your own witness. Another witness, instrumental evidence, etc.

Update: More to the story: I'm still a skeptic of ghost and all but this experience has made me open my mind a bit more.

.

Usually when we see 3 a.m. mentioned it's by someone trying to link it in the the 'witching hour' superstition, but you don't *appear* to be doing that.

.

... It couldn't have been very remarkable if you just glanced at it and then decided to go back to bed. Actually, these are the conditions under which we're vulnerable to hypnagogia, and at this point in the story, that seems virtually certain to be the explanation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia

.

I haven't heard of a hypnagogic hallucination persisting this consistently for this long, but I haven't heard that they can't, either.

.

Why not? There's nothing to say when a hallucination should or shouldn't start or end. In fact, my most remarkable hypnagogic experience was even more bizarre.

.

I don't know. Apparently you remained in that suggestive semi-awake suggestive condition for that long.

.

If you're a skeptic your mind should be that open anyway. In my experience (and let the downvotes flow) it's paranormal and/or religious believers who are the close-minded ones. A skeptic follows the evidence, and if we find compelling evidence for the existence of ghosts, then I'm a believer Ditto for any other paranormal claim. Die-hard believers get downright hostile if you suggest that there are rational real-world explanations for what they believe to be paranormal. They have a religious-like faith in their beliefs, and can't be shaken from them with any amount of reason or rational thought--can one be any more close-minded than that?

.

Look, even the least plausible natural real-world explanation is still far more probable than a supernatural one. In your case hypnagogia is a looser fit than usual, but it's still a plausible reason for what you experienced.

the fact you think you lay there for 2 hours with something on your ceiling just does not ring true with me,

I think you saw a funny shape on your ceiling and then fell back to sleep and because you was a little un-nerved by it you had a bad dream

you do not say where you are but where I live, by 5am in Summer, it would be light by then so that is why I believe you was dreaming

There could have been a light reflecting your shadow to the ceiling. I depends on the shape of the shadow and whether or not the shadow had changed shape during those hours.

A person can know many truths, and can better distinguish truth from fiction, if he or she daily and carefully says the rоѕary.

If you are skeptical about the reality of spirits you have power, but you are not allowed to say your Bufale, this to be clear, your story is false !! OK!

it sounds like a demon because if you could see a demon they are dark shadow or dark clouds - I have never seen a demon and I wouldn't even believe in them if it wasn't for a family member getting anorexia and I discovered anorexia is demon possession - sounds crazy but I was praying very hard and shouting at the demon and it came out - here is a video and he mentions seeing demons - demons really do exist - people will deny they exist btw

easiest way to get rid of a demon is to say Go in the name of Jesus - all demons cower and fade away when you say that

Put an Ouiji Board on the floor next to your bed and next time you see the shadow ask, "Who are you?" Then watch what is spelled out on the Ouiji Board. Good luck!

maybe you summoned it from the dream realm or even perhaps it followed you back to the earthly plane by itself .

I only know demons to exist in levels of intelligence, and dimensions, sometimes organized into groups, sometimes they posess people or attatch themself to you. "Demons" is such a loose term because most people think of something evil or negative whereas the original understanding of a demon was not always evil but a spirit in fact. I do not remember the EXACT origin of the word but it was spelt something along the lines of "daimone" or "daemon".... there were daimones that felt the need to help and guide people, and there were daimones that felt the need to be malicious towards humans, therefore they were later categorized by christianity as "demons" and "angels"... HOWEVER... i personally have experienced that daimones(spirits) are JUST spirits, and the only thing that makes these "daimones" an angel or a demon is their affiliations with darkness or light. Are they a follower and soldier of yahweh? Or are they a follower and soldier of the force of evil/satan... You do not have to look at it from a religious standpoint... but it will not eliminate the fact that both the power of destruction is out there and the power of healing is out there, you can see it cosmically as the power of void, or the power of projection. Negative space, positive space. You can see it as human morality murderers and rapists, or people who save others and aid in the taking place of justice. No matter what, it exists...

With all that being said, you now have a basic idea of the nature of spirits, next you need to understand that they exist in the same way us critters of the earth exist but in a DIFFERENT realm/dimension/plane of existence.... some have a high level of intelligence, are multi-demensional and full of light. Some are equally intelligent, very multi dimensional. but rather than filled with light they are dark and "inward" they can appear like shadows and move like shadows. folding in on themselves, disappearing into the shadows... all of that good stuff ;)

Its best not to judge any person or creature or spirit based on the color of their skin, their energy, their fur, their eyes... etc. because we are in a physical plane of existence and the only one we know of, that means the rest are of the spiritual sort. A good model to judge a spirit by is by it's intentions or actions towards YOU, or ANYONE else... This is because the material plane makes an effective model to create universal morality on; We know as humans that to say something slightly hurtful is bad, but to actually punch someone in the face takes it one step further... it is the same in the spiritual sense. some spirits dont understand (best to banish them from your space in the physical plane and possible the spiritual if it becomes a problem), some spirits just DO NOT care... those spirits need to be completely banished from your realm entirely. Best to pray to the highest most all-knowing god that exists that he/she will send someone to effectively deal with the spirit that is harassing you. its also good to cleanse yourself of ANY and ALL evil energies. (everything from cleaning your house, taking a shower, eating healthy, drinking lots of water, to things such as choosing NOT to watch anything violent on tv, and staying away from things such as pornography, and try to keep your mind on things that are healthy and cleansing to you)....

This is what I gather from your experience:

what you experienced was really no different than a "freak accident" or you could even call it a "spiritual anomaly" in the spirit realm... it doesnt seem evil or good... and if it was evil, something was protecting you, or something was keeping it from harming you. it could be religion or it could be your own choice to lie down on the bed and keep calm, despite the fact that there was a SHADOW hovering above your bed... that simple action could easily make a spirit feel uneasy about moving in on you... i personally feel like this was a very odd experience... not your average demon... not average in the sense that it probably had a low-frequency, and not average in the sense that it is not affilliated with anything and it was probably there, JUST for you... maybe a spirit you knew in previous lives or is connected to you, or concerns itself with you. there are many reasons why it might have left. it could be that it no longer had the energy it needed to manifest itself, so it began to shake like that and leave. I KIND OF feel like this was the sort of spirit that may be bad by nature, and has no other form of existence and left because you stood up, some would not be so brave. Spirits like this usually do not do much else but hover and linger, they maybe there for a reason but its nottoo much of a big deal, remember though that this type of spirit, if it is in your space, needs to be under supervision and control by you, you need to be able to effectively vanish it and study it without allowing it permanence in your life, sometimes daimones do not understand boundaries and the differences in human and spiritual existence. i also feel that this "demon" is a very low, base-level of intelligence... not like a multi-dimensional... 2 D at the most? maybe?

the fact that it happened at 3 in the morning and you were very thirsty is notable. 3 am is the end of the witching hour, and thirst can often be associated with demons, especially spirits of hunger... and usually they are wearing capes. usually they have no other intention that getting some energy and then leaving.. sometimes they attatch themselves but that does not seem to be the case with you...

do some digging. journal all the details of that night. what you ate, what you drank, if you had been pondering certain things, if there had been any recent spiritual changes in your life. anything and everything may cause the truth to be revealed if you analyze it long enough.
