Well it could be just static or something. There`s no need to jump to the conclusion that it`s Paraormal. You said that you`ve been reading really scary stories so that might be the reason why your brain is exaggerating. Yes your mom heard it but I doubt that she was affected by this as you are now. Calm down, try to stay away from those stories for a while and when you feel that you are able to bare the content; start reading again (or not at all. It`s up to you.)

I Sincerely Hope This Helps!

Woah! A growling sound? My best guess is that it was one of you breathing. Now you must be thinking "BILLIE JON WHAT THE HELL?! BREATHING?! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN BRETHING?!" but I have noticed that with my friend sometimes breathing down the phone can sound sorta like a growling sound. But the way it sounds like talking I don't really know. Are you sure that it was coming from the line. Not some sort of animal outside of one of your homes or something? And are you sure that the line was only connected with your phone and your mums? If the growling stoped when you put the phone down then it must have been on the line. And of corse you're not crazy! Don't EVER think that! What you hear does not make you mad. If the growling sound still went on when you put the phone down I think that it must have been some animal or something or just inside your head. Many people hear sounds in their head that are nothing. Hope I helped!

Before answering this need to know if it is a cell or a landline phone please - big difference.

Okay - since you said cell phone - have had this question given to us a lot, even people with recordings left with random voices on messages. Because you said cell here i do not think this is a paranormal effect and this happens a lot as a fluke of the cell system - this would be a lot harder to explain away on a hard line phone. BUT in the olden days when things were less digital - this happened in the old switching equipment too.

But with cell service we are asked about these such things often enough to say that is not that out of the ordinary to experience this.

It is called a cross line and is perfectly normal. I have had a full conversation with 3 different people that we have all had this happen all at the same time! We had a laugh about it.

So as suggested in another post, because of your own state of mind, anything unusual is extenuated. This seemed unusual and therefore you lumped to an irrational thoughts.

If you are feeling a little down, how about you take yourself along to a medical practricioner if you haven't already. They can really help take away some of your anxiety. There is no shame in trying a medication or if you are on one trying something new.

Sometime you can get cross interference on a cell phone. It's uncommon but I had it happen once a few years ago. Don't worry. Nothing creepy

Crosstalk on cell phones is one thing, if the same sad voice occurs again, maybe cause for concern, report to local police.

If you're upset, give the licensed counselors at 1-800-525-LOVE a call 24/7, tell your story/problems; they've heard it all; their general website is http://www.klove.com

"Emotions: Transforming Anger, Fear and Pain," Marilyn Barrick, and "For Women Only," Shaunti Feldhahn, are helpful.

Yes don't worry about that unless it happens more often. Is you hear some weird stuff like your name or someones name then you should worry about it. try to stay calm and try to talk more to your friends.
